What is fabric duct ?
Fabric duct is a combination of ducting and diffuser. It is a green technology product made from polyester material that used to deliver and diffuse cool air from air conditioning system to the conditioned room.
Fabric duct function is same as conventional metal duct, but the main difference is fabric duct can delivers and diffuses cool air evenly compared to metal duct.
The fabric duct system is 25% more efficient. Furthermore, it also can save monthly bill cost for energy consumption up to 60% compared to metal duct.
Fabric duct is suitable for a big space area like hall, mosque, auditorium & etc. It also can be installed at open space area like cafe and showroom due to its permeable material that allows cool air flow through the fabric or more precisely called zero condensation.

IS IT IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN FABRIC DUCT ?
Every system that operates in this world need to be maintained in order to sustain its performance and efficiency to the consumer, same goes to fabric duct. Fabric duct is an air conditioning system same as conventional ducting that functions to deliver cool air from air conditioning system. So that, fabric duct also need to be maintained to sustain its performance based on different applications and condition. Some factory is very particular about cleanliness and hygiene, so that the fabric duct must regularly maintains to protect their food/product from any dust, germs and bacteria.
SUSTAIN PERFORMANCE
Fabric duct must be maintained in order to sustain it performance delivers cool air evenly to the conditioned room. Before that, the filter of air conditioning system must be cleaned first. For what reason ?
Filter’s function is to clog all the dust, germs and bacteria before the cool air flows to the fabric duct. If the filter did not clean and dirty, probability for the fabric duct to be the secondary filter is higher.
If the fabric duct is full of dust and contaminants particle, the airflow from fabric duct to conditioned room will be blocked and effects the performance of fabric duct.
MAINTAIN THERMAL COMFORT
Thermal comfort is the condition of mind that expresses satisfaction with the thermal environment and is assessed by subjective evaluation.
The human body can be viewed as a heat engine where food is the input energy. The human body will generate excess heat into the environment, so the body can continue to operate.
If the fabric duct is not maintains, it performance and efficiency will drop down and airflow of cool air from air conditioning system will be fluctuated wildly. So that, human thermal comfort cannot be achieved due to fluctuated airflow diffuse by fabric duct.
PREVENT WASTE OF ENERGY
In a building, air conditioning system consume 60% of energy which is more than half that other electronic equipment such as light, fan & etc.
If the fabric duct does not maintain well, the desired temperature in a certain space or room cannot be achieved. So, what is happen after that ?
The compressor of air conditioning has to operate will full force without cut off until the system achieves desired temperature set by consumer. If this situation happen, the system will operate with maximum amperage rate and effects monthly bill electricity cost.
AVOID SICK BUILDING SYNDROME
Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is describe as a situation in which the occupants of a building experience acute health or comfort related effects that seem to be linked directly to the time spent in the building.
One of the source of SBS is improper maintenance of air conditioning system include fabric ducting. Particle contaminants such as dust, gems and bacteria can spread freely from the fabric duct if the air conditioning and fabric duct system are not well maintain.
There are many symptoms of SBS such as headache, sore throat, respiration problem and stinging eyes that will effects your work performance and colleagues health too.
MAINTAIN INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is the air quality within and around buildings and structures. IAQ is known to affect the health, comfort and well being of building occupants.
Poor indoor air quality has been linked to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). If the IAQ cannot be maintain, the probability for the consumer to get SBS and did not achieve human thermal comfort is slightly higher.
Furthermore, the productivity and learning session in school or university will reduces and impaired due to bad Indoor Air Quality.
